    Finished agonizing

After six months of thought and research my agony over my first firearm purchase is over. Since I could not decide on ONE pistol, I went to the shop today and bought two. I'll be picking up my new Glock 23 and Springfield XDM 40 on Saturday. I thought I had my heart set on a Sig, but had a hard time finding what I wanted in my area. Now the wife and I are looking forward to our two days of training in Sept. to get us up to speed on applying for a FL non resident CCW license. Look forward to learning more here too...

Congrats and good luck with your concealed carry training and application! Get out to the range as soon as you can and run 'em through their paces, and familiarize yourself with their operation. If you can find an NRA basic pistol course nearby, do that too. And practice, practice, practice.

    Great news...
You are starting out like many would LIKE to do but cannnot.
You've purchased more than one firearm, you're set up for your first training course, and you have your wife doing the same.

    I am impressed.

Yes indeed. Congrats! Good luck finding enough practice ammo and the time to use it. Find some good self defense ammo and make sure it works in your guns, then practice, practice, practice with the cheap stuff.

I've been buying range ammo for the last two or three weeks. Got a nice stash going... any recommendations on .40 defense ammo?

Opened up the 'ol can of worms, didn't I....
