This is a discussion on New Delta Elite... within the Defensive Carry Guns forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; very nice!...
Don't believe what you hear and only half of what you see!
If you start shopping and doing comparisons on 10MM versus some other rounds I think you'll be surprised what can be done with full load rounds. The 175 Grain load on the Winchester sight is comparable with .41 Magnum. If you compare the 10 MM Doubletap 200 grain load to the 210 grain .44 Magnum loads I think you'll find that it approaches light .44 Magnum ballistics. I have a 6inch Witness hunter that seems to love the 165 grain loadings in either hollow point or full metal jacket and the 165 grain at about 1350 FPS [rated from the loader] isn't all that bad to shoot.
Very nice. I, too, had one of the older line of Delta elite 10mm, and really liked it. I traded it for a Ruger Redhawk 44 mag when I moved to Wyoming. The Redhawk was more practical for the back country, but I loved that Delta Elite! Nice shooting, not bad to handle, and a good round.

Thanks again guys. I'm set up to reload although the brass count is still very low right now. I have some Starline on order but it'll be several weeks I'm sure. For practice I'm going to load the lower end on the 10mm scale but I do plan on loading some special 4-legged critter loads for when I'm camping, fishing or hiking. I'll have to compare the Winchester to the Double Tap. Thanks for the head up, llongshot.
I had a chance to buy one of the 1st Gen and didn't take advantage of it. I think I might have to pick up one of the new ones now I'm reloading.
