Actually judging by feedback comments the Walther I would avoid, tho supposedly they have sorted what was put down to mag issues. I think in most cases anyways, .22 semi's thrive way better on HV ammo or better.
You all can laugh if you want, Im using my mosquito as my primary carry.
Enigma - no laugh here!! I do not obviously suggest .22 as primary in most cases, rimfire and all that but hey - if you are restricted in your choice then go for it - no doubt whatsoever - any gun better than no gun that's for sure.

Mike - sorry to hear an LED has gone phut - others brighter, hmmm I reckon because now they can draw more current - which may compromize them quicker. However, at the priuce of the conversion it's not a huge cash loss. Mine lives in truck now so not used a whole lot but still running on all cylinders!!

There's food for thought!! Of course that round is so darned long I doubt it'd ever feed in a semi but - appealing though!

Of course an NAA mini in .22WMR might be good to have in your pocket too!

my uncle bought one in feb. i have been able to shoot it quite a bet.

it is very picky about ammo, out of about 500 rounds i put through it only about 2 full mags made it without a ftf . it comes with two different recoil springs which made no difference. the trigger pull is not comfortable for me either.

i talked to the uncle yesterday, he told me that he bought some expensive match ammo and the gun had no ftf/fte

i would buy one if they were not so picky, it is alot of fun two shoot until the ftf and very accurate

I've debated getting one as a training gun since I carry a P229 as my work gun.

The Mosquito I shot was not reliable enough for me to trust my life with - hopefully yours is.

For a mild recoiling RELIABLE firearm - have you considered compensated 9mm?? I'm not talking about slits in the barrel compensated like some models of Glocks and others - I'm talking about a full blown compensator like some competitors use - like this:

This would drop the recoil way down AND allow you to carry something more reliable AND more effective on the recieving end.

The lowly .22 isn't known for reliability either in firearms nor on bad guys - hate to see a guy have to resort to one is all.

    cheers

I've had a Mosquito since release date in the US. I own two with a third on the way.

I'm aware that there are people with problems, but the ones we've sold have all had zero issues that I'm aware of - people keep coming in to buy more mags and more ammo.

Yes, it's picky on ammo - it wants something with power. Remington game loads with the copper washed bullets are about the minimum I'd go with, although my first 'squito with a few k down the tube now shoots CCI Blazers reliably.

    Thanks for the info rfurtkamp.

I'll get some tomorrow and try em out this weekend. Seems everyone is consistent with recommending HV ammo so I'll change over the spring and see how I do with Hv's. Makes me wonder if all the problems ppl are having is because they are using the HV spring with standard loads?

Buy a box of all diferent brands of 22 ammo that you can find in your area. You find one that your gun likes. Then have fun.

    Enigmaone,
You are correct. Carrying a .22 is infinite times better than nothing. You are just adapting to your limitations, as all of us are. Besides, I would hate to be on the business end of ANY firearm.

    Hi Guys!

I took the Mosquito to the range over the weekend ( and will again this weekend too!)

What a SWEET gun! It was just a bit picky on ammo. I brought 4 types with me and it took 2 of em well. One better than the other.

My 16 year old son was able to handle it no sweat. My wife will try it out this weekend. I'll let you all know how I make out.

And remember, the ugly version is the green army man tactical, not the black. ;0
