The wife said yes!! So I ran to the gun show...

I was going to get the Ruger LCP but left with the Bersa Thunder .380CC in nickle finish

    I paid $310.00 OTD
about $50.00 less the the LCP @ my local gun show.

I love this thing, Can't wait to get some rounds down range (not to many though, can't get them very easy)
I do have 200Rnds with my name on-em.
Anybody know any +/- to these things? I am interested in learning everything I can on the new CG.

Good luck and I hope you never have to use it. Please make sure you know how to use it properly and safely before you consider it to be a self defense weapon. The sooner you bring it to the range and test fire and put it through the break in period the better off you will be. Here is a link to do a Fluff and Buff yourself. KTOG.Org - TecWerks - GL's Illustrated Fluff & Buff (fluff and buff) - Page 1 - Kel-Tec Owners Group

Also, make sure you clean, grease and oil it on a regular basis and not just between range trips.

You and your wife should take a safety class if you are not experienced or know the laws in your state about using and carrying your weapon.

Another thing you need to do is make sure that gun is safe when it is not in your hands, especially if there are children around. If that is the only gun you have a suggestion is the Micro Vault made by GunVault, I don't suggest you use the cable that comes with it, take the rubber pieces out of the bottom of it and bolt or mount it to something.

Again, Good luck and stay safe!

Edit: Sorry if I was wrong to assume that you are new to gun ownership. I had a later thought that you might just be new to that gun.

    Bersa,
    +
    Reliable
    accurate
    durable
    very ergonomic
    well made
    Undervalued
    excellent sights for the money
    -
    Little large for pocket carry
.380 not to start a caliber war
    limited ammo
Magazine release can be actuated to easily in some forms of carry
    Too many safeties IMO

Personally, I think you purchased the better weapon. I would take a Bersa over a Ruger LCP.
I know not what this "overkill" means.

Oh yeah I forgot I did remove the mag safety from mine IMO if there is a round in the chamber it needs to go bang mag or no mag.

    Uhhhhhhh...
do some guys actually need their wife's approval to spend $400?
The entire concept of this is alien to me.
Maybe......if you married into money, and were employed by your father-in-law.......but otherwise?
    Lame.
    Sorry for expressing my feelings.

Bersa's are a great value. I am sure you will enjoy it. Great price too.

Been married for 28 years.... The wife and I still discuss $400 dollar expenditures on "optionals"...... smooths out married life a little. There's enough rough spots in marriage without making more....YMMV

    Uhhhhhhhh....

Unfortunately IMHO this response to the OP is LAME and selfish. Some of us people here have wives we love. That means mutual agreements on spending 400 bucks. Maybe your lucky and have millions of dollars. ( or your not married ? ) Most of us don't. If your married and you don't have millions of dollars, and would feel ok with spending 400 bucks behind your wife's back, that's called selfishness. I been married 29 years and wouldn't think of doing it without her OK.

    Sorry for expressing my feelings.

    To the OP,
Congrats on the new weapon. My wallmart had 9 boxes of WWB 100 pack 380's yesterday. I got 2 of em. The ammo is starting to show up. I had the CC model and it was a nice gun. Wish I had it back.

First off, the OP is my son.
He is not new to firearms; trust me on this.
(Just last night between the two of us, we blew through about 200 rounds of .40 & .45, and another 200 of .22 just for fun, on a 'let's run over to the range' spur of the moment thing.)

He is new to the Bersa, so for that matter, am I.

It IS a good idea to get the wife on board with expenditures that are more than a minor amount. (I realize that $400 is minor for some, but not for either of us!) Especially when you respect your wife, and have a 2 yr old house and barn, 2 kids, 2 horses, a dog, and a cat to support and take care of.

Thanks to those that stuck up for that idea, and answered the original question about wanting more information about the Bersa.
I wasn't able to go with him today and give him advice, because I was in an NRA instructor class, (We had talked about the LCP) but if he is happy with it, so am I.
As has been said; "Any gun will do, if you will do."

P.S; We shouldn't assume someone is unqualified just because they are new to here.

Enjoy it man! I got my wife a Firestorm .380 which is basically the same with a Hogue style grip. I love it... so much so I carry it at times when she's not carrying and I need something smaller. Very reliable pistols!
