    Biggest Gun You've Carried

So me coming to the decision of my first pistol then eventually making it my CCW. Im deeply, madly, head over heels in love with the SIG 226 Blackwater. Full size, Im comfy shooting 9mm and its stopping ability, 20+1 capacity, SIG reliability and perfect ergonomics. The downside? $1300 but it will last me a lifetime so I can bite THAT bullet. Anyways Im a big guy at 6'4 200lbs but have never carryed a gun in a concealed manner and the SIG 226 is a bit on the large size so I was wondering how big of a gun have you all carried?

One of the guns in my CCW rotation is a full sized 1911. I have carried a 4" K frame revolver concealed and occasionally casually conceal a 4" N frame 610 or 629, but it's rare. I used to conceal a Ruger P85 or 89 and could again if I wanted to, I still own the guns and holsters.

I have carried a Colt Model 1917 New Service .45 ACP revolver for a whole day underneath my business suit coat. It wasn't so bad really.

Biggest pistol, Sig P220.....and Sig P226. The trick is carrying both.
I know not what this "overkill" means.

The biggest gun I have carried is a full sized SIG P-220R... no problems!

I used to carry a sig P226 in .40S&W with the 15 round mags, which makes it the same size as the sig you will be carrying. I am 5'9'' and about 175 pounds. I concealed it in both OWB serpa and a TT gunleather IWB holster. The hardest part of carrying it was getting used to the weight of it. Although I do wear a lot of hawaiian or Guayabera style shirts which helps quite a bit to hide it.

I used to carry a Dan Wesson 357 magnum with a 6" bull barrel in a shoulder holster. Kind of heavy but it was my duty weapon so I carried it off duty also.

The biggest gun I have ever carried is a Winchester model 70 Stainless Classic in 7mm Mag with a 24" barrel, with scope and sling weighs about 8.5 lbs.. Very hard to conceal, but it does impress the Pronghorns, out to about 300 yds.

10MM Witness Hunter longslide (6" barrel) in an elastic shoulder holster under a jacket. The end of the barrel just touched my belt. That was not in Illinois. I've carried a Thompson Center Encore with a 15" barrel in 30.06 and .460 while hunting.

It would be a toss up between a 6" Colt Python or a 5 1/2" Ruger Vaquero in 44 MAG.
