    Thanks guys!

    I did the tape deal the first time and it worked fine.
    Now after field striping and cleaning 5 or 6 times... it's no problem at all.

    At first I was gripping with the right hand trying to pull the slide up to the take down notch. Now I learned to just lock the slide, then release... letting the recoil spring slowly pull the slide itself to the take down notch. Much easier than pulling the slide against the spring.

    Remember not to engage the Schwartz safety when you are putting the slide back on. Otherwise you could damage the safety.
