So I went to the gun store on my b-day

I usually treat myself to a new gun on my birthday...
    (actually its Wed the 12th)

I've never owned a 1911 before so after looking around a bit I saw a Kimber Ultra Raptor II at my LGS... so I brought it home today. I field stripped, cleaned and oiled it but was pretty nervous on reinstalling the slide stop. Like I said I'm a noob on the 1911s and didn't want to scratch it the first day. It was kind of tough pulling the slide back with the one hand but I got it done after a few tries. Dose it get easier after it's broken in? Any tips would be appreciated. Going to the range tomorrow and try it out. Here's a couple pics.

The Kimber factory setting on Raptors is 4 to 5 pounds.

I have 2 45's...a 1911 and a S&W 4516....always loved them, but I have to say, that Kimber may make me look for another 45! It is stunning!

    And Happy B-Day! Congrats!

Ran 50 round through her this morning at the range and she ate every one flawlessly! Now I need to find more .45 to feed her. Very accurate for a 3" pistol a lot better than me. Recoil was very manageable which surprised me. I thought with a 3" barrel it would kick like a mule. First impression... so far so good! Just need to get through the break in and I'll be looking for a carry rig.
