I bought my first 1911 with out my wife knowing. I took a pic of it and put it on our computer as a screen saver. She asked about it and I told her I had it for awhile. Nothing happened. I was surprised.

I don't know if it is something I want to take. I have been reading about alot of issues with the 1911 platform unless you get the 5". This calls for some more investigation.

1911 design - (generally) the shorter the slide (barrel, recoil rod, spring, etc.) the more likely the reliability issue. The shortened Commander length (~4") is least effected by this theoretical generality & it's more common as the length decreases. Sure, there are exceptions. But once a 1911 requires a dual-captured (Seecamp) recoil system...I'm personally out.

    Thumbs up

I just read an article in the "Journal of Psychology" that indicated that it is healthy for you to buy guns after you dream about them. The research indicated that all guns, not just 1911's, had the same therapeutic effect.

I haven't had a dream about a 1911, but I've been kinda interested in them lately. I had a dream about a Cobra, but awoke quickly when in the dream it exploded and blew off my hand.
