I have a chance to buy a S.S. Colt Officer's (3.5" barrel) but it will be a bit before my friend has it shipped from his home state.
If anyone could give me the dimensions of the pistol, that would be great. I haven't come up with anything in an hour or so of searching. I'm wondering how it compares to the CW9 I carry now.
The Colt Officers model, which has been out of production for awhile, is similar in most dimensions to a Colt Defender model. The Officers is one half inch longer in barrel and slide, but has the same grip configuration, magazine and slide width (0.90 inches flat to flat) as the Defender. It is a very compact gun. If it is all stainless steel (not the lightweight with aluminum frame) it will weigh in the 32 ounce range empty. The Defender has an aluminum frame and weighs about 25 ounces. Here is a picture of my Defender model to give you a rough idea:
And here is a photo of another person's stainless officers model I found on the web:
I recently (three months ago) a NEW Colt Officers model. It was supposed to be only 100 made in Stainless. A short run if you will.
It worked flawlessly for about 300 rounds. I replaced the orginal plug with a reverse plug and put in a full length guide rod. It started to jam a lot. I put the orginal Colt plug back in and it runs like a top.
I have purchased several new plugs from Colt just incase one decides to crack on me. I have never seen one do it, just heard about it, so I was cautious. I have carried alot because it is so reliable with the oginal parts in it.
