    Colt Tank Commander

Ok, so I went to the gun shop to look for a new ccw purchase. I was seriously looking at a Rock Island 1911, then say a Springfield GI that caught my eye. I kept wandering and came across a Colt Tank Commander. Gun looked to be in pristine condition, but a bit pricey. Anyone know anything about the Tank Commander? From what I understand they are extremely limited. I had budgeted for a new Springer loaded, but am really tempted to splurge on the Tank Commander. The wife says save money and get the GI or the RIA. Anyone know anything about the Colt Tank Commander? I personally have never even heard of the Tank Commander until I saw it in the store.

For the money, Springfield Armory (Loaded for sure, GI is OK but the sights are skimpy) is my choice. RIA has attractive pricing but from what I hear their metallurgy is not on a par with SA. That Tank Commander sounds like a limited-run Colt to me.

Begs to answer a question that didn't need to be ask.

IMHO The butt/grip is the hardest part of a weapon to conceal. Slide length may contribute to the ease of carrying but usually doesn't contribute to the CC issue, of concealibilty

My apologies, yes it was the Tank Officer's. Looked to be in pristine condition, but they wanted nearly a grand for it. Beauty of a gun and sure would go nicely with my Colt Defender, but after some pondering, I think I am gonna go with the GI.
