    Who carries a Beretta?

Thought I'd check the atmosphere and see how much support Beretta has around here. I know they are weak in the CCW type guns, but many still carry them so lets see who they are.

I tried to list the most common options, but I'm sure I missed some. If I missed your favorite I appologize in advance.

So, if you carry a Beretta (either as primary or BUG) which did you choose?

I carry a PX4. Had it for less than a month now, but I'm totally sold on it. Quite a bit larger than the Sig I had before, but I'm used to that now.

Left handed magazine release is the coolest thing ever. I never realized how much better it is (if you're left handed) until I owned this pistol. Total world of difference.

I have a PX4 that I shoot in IDPA. Great gun! Very accurate and easy to shoot.

Poor thing deserves somebody better behind the trigger though.

Although the guns I mostly carry are a SIGARMS P229 for duty use and either Kahr 9mm's (P9 Covert and PM9), SIGARMS sig pro 2340, Steyr S40 and/or Kel Tec P3AT for off-duty use, my Beretta 92 FC Type M and 92FC still see off-duty time on my belt as well now and then.

My wife and I picked up two Bobcats as our second pistols. They are BUG's only. I always carry a 9mm. She might carry the Beretta as a primary, but only if I have a 9mm or we're n a low risk environment.

They are fun, reliable, but ammo sensitive. We put wood grips on both.

No other experience with Beretta except their O/U shotguns, which I loved as a kid, but never owned.

My very first handgun, ordered in advance so I could pick it up on my 21st birthday, was a Beretta 21 (Bobcat) in nickel with wood grips. Thing loved CCI Stingers.

Traded it a couple years back towards a 92FS as my aging eyes couldn't make out those shiny little sights any more, but I wish I never did. I miss the little thing...

For a long time I carried a 1911 of one type or another off duty. For the past couple of months I have been toting around my Bereta 96 Elite 1A, I shoot it as well as any 1911 I've owned or shot and the ammo is free.

I think I've already come out of the closet and admitted to being a Beretta fan. But as I also said, I'm a fan of many different guns.

I only have one Beretta, a Vertec 9mm, and am disappointed that it's "not presently in production" was the way the Beretta rep put it.

I almost bought a PX4 today, and the day ain't over yet. It doesn't really make sense for me to get a PX4 since I've already got mags for the 92 series and they fit my CX4 as well.

I read where just an insert and mag release adaptor is all that's needed to adapt the Storm to the PX4 mags, but then several have reported that they're gonna have to send their Storms back to Beretta and have them fit the adaptors.

But, then, hmmm, I can still get to the gun store in time if I leave now...I gotta go!

PX4 is great. Very accurate, feels like it was made for my hand (might be different for you). Only thing that stinks is that most of them didn't ship with the backstraps so you have to register it with Beretta and they send them to you.

I think more people will discover (or re-discover) Beretta as a contender in CCW market once someone in Beretta or BUSA introduce another compact 9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP (or 357 SIG).

Beretta made a huge mistake IMHO when they killed off the 92/96 Compacts (including the Type M), Mini Cougars and 8000F Cougar Type L.....that left us with the various .380 ACP, .32 ACP and .22 chambered compact guns.

I suspect the compacts were just not profitable; it's hard to believe that Beretta would stop producing a money making gun. Or it could be that they wanted to focus on the M9 and government contracts.

But, I agree, in a world of three to four different size guns in the same type and brand, Beretta is lacking. But so is Sig as far as I'm concerned. Their small gun, the 239, is pretty big and heavy for a small gun and doesn't hold many rounds. Compare that to the Glock 26 that weighs about 23 oz, holds 11 rounds, and can be carried in an ankle holster.

I had a .40 Mini Cougar (with an extra .357Sig barrel) for about 2 years, but it was just too big and heavy for the way I carry concealed. Nice gun, accurate, reliable, but I traded it a while ago.

Which is a constant source of debate and consternation on the Beretta Forum.
