1: A full-size(5" barrel)1911 45 ACP...everyone should own one!
2: A Glock 19...best 9mm IMHO!
3: A S&W 442 or 642 as a BUG or hot-weather EDC.

I think almost all contingencies could be covered by these 3 guns. Throw in a SA or DA 4-5" 44 Mag as a "trail gun" and the collection is complete. If you're really worry buy 2 of the first 3 guns as "back-ups" if a particular model is down for maintenance!

Wow. For such a subjective recommendation, I'm in complete agreement!

I've deviated from your suggestion by a 637 instead of 442/642.

There's a missing .357 or 44 Mag from my collection, and I'm starting to think I'm missing a Ruger LCP. The 637 is light, but bulky and still occasionally prints thru the pocket holster. For a hot weather EDC, I may replace it with an LCP wrapped in a 'wallet' holster and leave the 637 in my office deck drawer...

Oh yeah, the G19 is like no other. Nothing else compares.

Glock 23...EDC
Sig P228...backup EDC
S&W M&P 340 BUG/hot weather gun.

Think I am pretty covered too.

Though I would like to have anice Fullsized 1911...and a big framed revolver trail gun.

That's what I call a good and reasonable selection. :hand10:

I would of course make a few changes, based upon my preferences, if I was limited to three guns only, but I often conceal three guns on my person, and always at least two. My choices would be, as follows:

1) Browning Automatic Pistol in .40 S&W
2) J- Frame or Ruger LCR
3) Glock 19/4" .357 Magnum GP100 (Too hard to choose)

I'd probably go with the Revolver as the third choice, as I really like the .357 Magnum for it's versatility. If I want to shoot 9mm I can change the barrel in the BAP.

I'm just glad I don't have to make such choices, because it would be too hard to do so.

A) 5" 1911 .45 ACP
B) 5" 1911 9MM (Excellent for training on the cheap)
C) 3.25" 1911 45 ACP

These are not just suggestions but exactly what I own and have found to be excellent for 99% of my lawful four season EDC needs.

Browning Hi Power (.357 SIG)
GLOCK G19
S&W Model 10 (Snubbie, Alloy Frame)

There are other CC guns that I own, but these are the only ones I really need!

SIG P220 Carry .45ACP
SIG P226 9mm
Ruger SP101 .357mag

Those are my choices!

Sig P226 .40 S&W
SA XDsc .40 S&W or XD 4" .40 S&W or S&W model 66 .357 magnum
S&W model 60 .36 spcl

It's a toss up with the XD's the 4" is becoming somewhat of a safe/range only gun, and the sub-compact has basicaly become my truck gun (nice little hidden compartment for it), I carry the model 60 daily, and sometimes I carry the model 66, especially if I'm heading to the woods.
