This is one sweet looking gun, manufactured by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI). Does anyone have one of these to be able to relate some good pro's or con's?

I have an older (pre 94) Baby Eagle from the same company.

It was my first handgun and I still think it's one of my favorites. Excellent quality and shoots like a dream.

I have yet to hear anything negitive about any of their arms.

It is a great gun that is seriously underrated. Big point against it is its weight. It weighs more than any comparably sized steel framed gun.

Funny, I've been considering getting one of these as well. I have three CZs that I love and I've heard that IWI made improvements to the CZ design so I'm curious. The only negatives I've read has had to do with it being heavy and the black finish not holding up as well as it probably should. The pistol being too heavy is subjective and care/maintenance can deal with the finish. The pistol can always be refinished at some point later as well.

The model I've been looking at is the mid-size, steel 9mm and it comes in at 38oz. That's quite a bit for a 3.78" barrel pistol. They do look and feel great, though.

My only other concern would be the cost of magazines and spare parts. I've read one forum entry where someone wrote they were expensive, but I've also read that they'll take the CZ 75 mags (which are inexpensive). I haven't heard of anyone experiencing parts failure, but I would like to have a spare slide stop as well as some springs and an extractor. I'm not sure how easily these are available.

I've also read where there are talks of importing frame-mounted safety pistols which is better to me than a slide-mounted one. I may just wait and see.

The "original" 941 was a great pistol and one of the few I truly regret parting with... Who couldnt love a 9mm and a .41AE in the same frame. I had the full version with 1 mag and 1 barrel for each caliber.

Recently sold my Baby Eagle II in .45ACP, which is the same pistol. Mine was just during the Magnum Research era, which ended recently.

All steel and one heck of a shooter!

Crossbreed Holsters has the Supertuck and the Quickclip available for these. Just FYI.

Good pistol, carried it (Nickel Brushed Finish FS model) for a while but could not stand the weight (EDC the 1.1 kg pistol in IWB - it can be annoying ) and switched for a Glock .

Its like to buy a Toyota instead of Alfa Romeo , cheaper, robust, but no charm or performance at all.

For EDC the polymer version can be very decent option.

I have a "Baby Eagle" in 9mm just like zero's. It's the best fitting gun I've ever held in my hand, and that's why I bought it. It's pretty big and heavy so I've never carried it on me, but I may give it a try this winter.
My main complaints are a "gritty" feeling decocker and a sorry SA trigger. The trigger weight isn't bad, but it has tons of travel and a few distinct notches before the hammer drops. I'm sure this varies by gun, maybe I got a bad one. That said, I still shoot it well due to its great ergos, comfy feel and heavy weight. If I splurged for a trigger job, I'm sure I'd love it more.

I've bought mags intended for the CZ75 and EAA Witness, and they both work and aren't overpriced. I can't speak to any other parts availability.

    Jericho 941

A few months ago I traded for a 98+% baby Desert Eagle (Magnum Research branded Jericho 941) with the polygon rifled barrel made during the IMI era. I previously had both the CZ 75B and the CZ 97B and found both to be well made, accurate, and reliable. That said, I do like the Israeli gun a bit better, mostly because I can easily remove the firing pin for cleaning out its channel as in the pre-B CZs. As for CZ magazines, I kept several spares and to make them work exactly right in my baby Eagle I had to remove a bit of metal at the top of the magazine catch slots and install narrow-frame Witness followers so that the slide holds open after the last round is expended. Once those mods were made, the magazines fit well, feed well, and function properly in every way. I judge the machining and fit to be slightly better on the Eagle. I also like the polygon rifling. I can tell you that both the barrel and the slide are very, very hard. I have not checked so cannot say about the receiver. I own, carry, shoot (at least when ammo was more available and so much more cheaper), and table-top smith many, many pistols and revolvers of various makes and calibers. If I could have only one handgun, it would be a Glock 19. Nevertheless, I really like the Eagle/Jericho 941 and would feel confident carrying it for defense.

    I enjoy mine..
I did notice the recoil seamed to be more straight back then up, if that makes any sense.

I am glad I picked this one up, it is a toss up to carry the G30 or this one... the G30 normally wins do to more extras lasermax ect.

    Jericho 941 .45 and 9mm Recoil Spring

I just recently purchased both the 9mm (poly) and the .45 acp pistols. I have shot the 9mm and it shoots sweet. As many mention, the grip does fit the hand very nice. I have not gotten out to shoot the .45 yet but will this Saturday.
My question: I did a field strip to clean both pistols and found that each have '2' recoil springs. When I go online to search for an update to the documents, they only mention the '1' spring. I call Magnum Research tech guys and they were surprised but said, YES be sure to install both springs. Now to the question, has anyone else seen this with your Baby Eagle or Jericho? Why did they install the '2' springs?
    Look forward to your responses.....

My wife's pistol is a Baby Eagle, steel frame, compact size from the IMI/Magnum Research era as well. Ditto to everything said above: accurate, feels great in the hand, well machined/slick (other than the safety/decocker lever). We bought it used, and it does have some wear on the sides of the frame, all the way forward under the muzzle.

She doesn't have a CHL and doesn't carry it - it's a bedside pistol for her. Although she *has* ventured out at night in the car with it (legal in Tx) - it's a sight to see a 4'10" Vietnamese lady with a black shoulder holster!

I have polymer pistols for carry, but always enjoy shooting hers - a Porsche compared to a Ford.
