Need help in answering some questions...
One of my co-workers discusses guns with me on occasion. He is looking at getting a SIG P245. He asked about what he should purchase in the way of SD ammunition that would best serve this particular firearm. Questions also arose as to what kind/brand of holster would work best for him. Not using this caliber or particular platform, I need help in answering his questions. Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately, the right answer isn't really an answer at all.
Ammo: Any of the premium self defense ammo will be fine for SD, he should try several kinds and find the one that is most accurate out of his gun.
Holster: again, any good holster will work, each has a slightly different feel or ride to it. As for the kind, he has to decide how he wants to carry the gun, have him check out the thread: http://www.defensivecarry.com/vbulle...concealed.html for a pictorial on the options.

for SD ammo in .45acp I'd use Federal HST 230gr, Winchester Ranger T 230gr, Speer Gold Dot 230gr, Cor-Bon DPX 185gr +p. All show excellent results. If none of those are an option then Remington Golden Sabers 230gr can also work. This is just my short list but as was said, anything will work and he should test it in his gun.
Holster is a matter of preference and choice. How will one carry, where they will carry etc. I'm a fan of IWB leather. There are many fine makers that can be found on this site. Some with wait times as short as 30days some as long as over a year.
