Bore axis is the distance from the centerline of your barrel to the top of your shooting grip. You would want to keep that distance as small as possible, but still maintain enough "meat" on your frame for integrity.

Two examples i can think of for a high axis are; XD pistols and the Walther PPS. For low axis would be all Glocks and, really low, the Hk P7.

The lower the axis the less "snappy" the recoil is. It also gives you better control on target reacquisition.

That is my broad description of bore axis.
Thanks. And I agree about the sights. I might actually do it with the "groove" sight like the Colt New Agent. It's basically a fixed groove in the slide with just a front sight.

I'll take another crack at it tonight and get the bore axis more balanced.

So if we are all working on it, should we call it......oh maybe......the "DC" model? :)

Looks similar to the 27 to me.

Good job on the image manipulation.......I'm just glad you don't have any photos of me to manipulate.

I like it. Load that bad boy up with Buffalo Bore +P and if the bullet don't get them the flash and blast will.

I think that such a small pistol would be better chambered for the .380 and rated for +P+! (Buffalo Bore would make a great load for such a handgun)!

Nope. I only use Windows Paint and a freeware program called IrfanView.

Okay, here she is with a rear trench sight and the adjusted bore axis. I suspect that I might have taken it a bit TOO far back. Opinions?

We are all getting close! I still think you need to get rid of some of that frame under the slide. Bring the slide down to just above the trigger pin. I know your having trouble by trying to keep that thumb ergo....just get rid of it!

Oh, yeah. Let's make that front sight a bit less snaggable!
