NOT birdshot! Buckshot! This subject has been discussed at length.

Face it...anything that will penetrate to the vitals on a human will also go through flimsy sheetrock walls. Heck, you can punch through sheetrock with your fist.

#4 buck should be the minimum, #1 is the best blend of pellet count and penetration. 00 is good too, and easier to find than #1 buck.

Nice choice for home protection...is your yard under 2,000 acres?

Nice weapon, but if you ever use it, I feel for whom ever is outside your home (unless they are the BG)

take one shotgun, one jungle load, mix up,shake around stir rapidly. pour in mold and out come One shotgun for home. your jungle load being fourty flettes inside one shell. if standing place in in freezer till police arrive. that is true home defense basic.

Here's my HD carbine. It's a 9mm Spikes Tactical. However, I prefer my Mossberg M590A1 (Model 51663) loaded up with Poly Shok ammunition for home defense. With Poly Shok you NEVER have to worry about over penetration.
