Kimber Ultra Carry II

My favorite carry gun is my Kimber CDP Ultra II. I have never had a feed problem with it and find it to be totally dependable. It is worth what you will pay for one.

Good call. I've seen the Ultra Carry or Pro Carry go for around 750-850 online, so if my local guy can't match that, I'll probably order online and have it shipped to him.

Do you guys have a preference between the ultra carry and the pro carry models? The ultra is smaller, but seeing as this will be a .45, I don't want to go too small and sacrafice the shootability (word?).

Last, my Taurus 24/7 has been a good first gun, but as I get closer to buying the Kimber, I'm thinking about getting a couple hundred bucks for it at the shop I will buy the Kimber from. Once I get the nice gun, I guarantee I'll never really use the Taurus, but I'd like some of your input on trading it.

I won one of the Ultra Carry II's about 5 years ago at a corporate shooting event. At the time I was a diehard 9mm guy and wanted nothing to do with a .45. I sold it to a guy at my office for $600 or so, and could just kick myself now. I am dying for a .40 or .45 EDC. The Kimber would be my first choice, but due to funds, its looking more and more like another brand.

My current carry...Kimber Ultra Carry SP II. You will love the UC! This thing is totally manageable. Almost 1,000 rds of various ammo the first weekend and no problems at all that I didn't create myself (loose grip).

My EDC is a 'basic' black Ultra Carry II. It was great in accuracy from the get-go. I paid 720, NIB at a local dealer. The only problem was premature lock-backs. Kimber mailed me a new slidestop. Have had no more problems. It fires/feeds every jhp I have used, including some reloads. I keep Golden Saber 230grn. in it for carry. Also, some Hogue wrap-around grips give it a very secure grip feel.

Cool. Now as far as online dealers go, has anyone dealt with gundealeronline.com or the armory before? I want to make sure I'm not getting scammed here before I decide where to get it from.

my father has this exact pistol and he LOVES it. It handles well, shoots well, and is an amazing gun to carry concealed. he is a HUGE kimber fan, so his decision is a little biased. I however am not a big Kimber fan (they are amazing guns, I just prefer a Sig) and I am contemplating purchasing one to carry as a back up weapon.

Well I made the plunge. Today I had my local dealer order a black pro carry II, but I don't know what the wait time will look like. They are a really huge dealer, so I imagine they may be able to get it within 6 weeks or so. Anyone have any ideas about how long I can expect?

I sure will. I imagine that it will probably be the end of december before I get it though. It seems that Kimber is having a hard time meeting demand right now, but I will post pics as soon as I get it!

On a side note, how well do the UC and the CDP hide either in OWB or IWB? The grip seems to be a tad long, but its been a while since I have held one.
