I think God is gonna get you for laying Colts on top of a Smith & Wesson counter pad!!!

I picked up a DS last year on Gunbroker for a very good price. It has a little "freckling" (surface rust), but this is destined to be a project gun. I have a place in line with a Colt specialist to do a DAO conversion on it, plus an action job and chamfer the chamber mouths. It'll get refinished after the metal work is done - might do one of the Robar finishes on it, like NP3.

That tight, "bank vault" lockup is an impressive Colt characterisitc.

I love my "Dick Sp.", everybody should have one...a true classic revolver. I would love to find a nice series 1.

Yup, a 3rd model bought in '74. it was my primary carry piece until I bought a .40S&W this past summer. Mine has Pachmayr stocks on it.

Occasionally I'll carry my old Dick Special.

I use to have a dick special but now have a cobra and it carries and conceals very well. You gotta love colt snubbies.

I have one in Nickel, bought it from a fellow officer >20 years ago and carried it as a secondary duty weapon for some special events. He wanted to buy it back from me a number of times when he saw me carrying it, but no deal.

It's a safe queen these days along with my primary duty weapon from that part of my past, a Colt Trooper Mk III in Nickel.

BTW, if anyone is looking an original Jackass Shoulder Holster for the Det Spcl, ping me with an Email or PM.

My wife carries a DS-2 and I carry a Magnum Carry for deep concealment. You can sill find used DS's around the same price as new smiths J frames. I feel the colts are the way to go. They offer six rounds instead of 5 and a little more weight to help reduce recoil.

I have a Cobra lightweight that's been electroless nickled sometime in it's past on my account at the gunshop. I'll probably carry it in my Maxpedition diaper bag.
