The ejection on your pistol should be consistent, if tuned correctly, the empties would land in the same general area for the most part. Erratic ejection can cause malfunctions, because the case isn't necessarily clearing the port. Your problem could also be the firing pin is clocking, a loose firing pin stop will let the firing pin rotate slightly, also giving inconsistent ejection. Any gunsmith that is familiar with the 1911 will know how to remedy either problem, as far as competent, I meant in your area, there are a goodly amount of 1911 'smiths you could send it off to. If your only problem is an empty case in the forehead occasionally, you might not think it's important enough to spend the money on.![]()
