My willpower was inadequate....lol. I had to have it.

If anybody wants to throw out any random info on this , please do.

    (I'm pretty much a 1911 moron)

'specialy 'bout ambi-safeties (I'm a lefty) and installation or anything else for that matter.
    Very nice, congratulations!
I would not change anything on that pistol until you have shot it a whole bunch, you'll know if YOU need anything different on the pistol (other than the thumb safety). I would look at the Ed Brown Tactical Ambidextrous Safety, they are one of the better compromises in styles.

    Mine

That is all you'll ever need right there.

A Stainless Officer (or Commander) for carry and a Gov't for everything else...

(not to say that that's all you'll ever have )

Man, that stinks! Stinks, I tell you. Why? Why, because I shot my friends Colt Commander last Sunday for the first time and I've had 1911itis horribly bad every since. I'm obsessed with getting a compact 1911!!!! It interferes with my sleeping. I think about it at work. I've got to have one! ARRRGGGG... 8-)

More seriously, that's a beautiful gun. Congrats.

Forgot to post this, one of the many and I think best resources for 1911 information...several articles including a user's guide from a guy that carries and works on them professionally...

Hi guys, nice thread. I'm here because I think I may have made a VERY LARGE mistake! I've been kicking around the idea and surfing the gunporn site (gunbroker) and finally decided on which brand and MODEL 1911I was going to purchase and then had to decide which FINISH to get and then called the local shop and found a SA Mil Spec Loaded in Parkerized finish for $750 and bought the darn thing then grabbed a coupla boxes of WWB and braved the blizzard blasting the midwest to go to the range and shoot the darned thing and am already planning on my NEXT purchase being an Officer's model and ******! The darned thing shoots so darned sweet that all I can think of is getting it back to the range.......HELP! Did I delve into a life-altering addiction????? What about my XD's?????? I just LOVE this gun!

Once bitten my the 1911, you're infected for life.

Although my Glock-36 is my EDC, I am still very fond of my two Kimbers...nice weapons, those 1911"s
