Recoil Spring for Glocks

Just wondering if anybody knows if Glock has a heavy duty recoil spring yet? Maybe to replace the light spring in stock config. Or if it's even advisable? It just seems as though if anything ever goes wrong with the Glocks, it's the spring.

I've shot Glocks for a lot of years, including with several shooters who were Glock armorers, and never heard a recommendation to change out the recoil spring.

Just that after two jams I took my G23 to the factory in Smyrna, Ga. and the factory armorer told me that the spring was weak and he showed me a way to check it from time to time. You make sure your weapon is empty of course, and pull your slide back and allow it to slide forward slowly while pulling the trigger. If it stops before fully forward,....the spring is weak and needs to be changed.

I would like to throw in how "Professional" the Glock Armorer and company treated me as a customer. Very considerate and answered all of my questions. My G23 sat for a few years unfired...now I practice and keep it in good shooting order. I carry the G23 as my primary, and truly trust this weapon.

Don't own a Glock but was wondering if you have to(or should) change the spring weight if you shoot the hot ammo that is out there ??? I did in my 1911''s. ---------

Be aware: DO NOT use a +P FP spring with a used standard/RP weight mainspring. The FP and mainspring work synergistically, and this will cause you all sorts of problems.

Not answering your question, though... I would get either ISMI, or Wolff, springs (factory # FP, and +P MS). IIRC, Wolff offers a couple of poundages over stock- unless you like really hot, mid-weight, loadings, stick with the weight 1 step above the stock rating. Enjoy!
