So nice to see so many full-size 1911's for carry. I really like some of the set-ups I see here. You guys rock! This is mine, still shopping for a better holster than the plastic belt slide that came in the gear package from Springfield. I'm thinking of a FIST #11. What do you all think of this holster? Its a combination IWB/OWB. Can a holster truly do double-duty?

this is just about one of the hottest 1911's ive ever seen. it's like the Angelina Jolie of 1911s.

It really is pretty. I miss that gun. I've been talking about doing it for a while, but I've finally decided on 2 other 1911's I feel I "need", a Wilson and an Ed Brown. Now, the next major problem is the finish. One will be all stainless and the 5" will either be all black or a black frame and a stainless slide.

i've been thinking about getting an all stainless Taurus, and swapping parts between the that and the one i have now, to have a pair of two tone 1911.

Just had show some of the my 1911's. Two unfired series 70's with ivories. Colt commander LW with stags and my former favorite carry piece"NRM commander hard chromed from Ford's". Now I carry a DW CBOB when I carry a .45.

i just got an El Paso Saddlery Summer Cruiser, and it's the best IWB i've used yet.

Forget the thumb break you don't need it. It's more of a nuisance than anything. There are tons of good IWB holsters out there. MTAC is good for a lower cost get it quick option. Milt Sparks VM II is really hard to beat.

if ou're carrying concealed, don't use a thumb break, or any other retention device. just make sure the holster fits snugly.
