An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.

Though I admit I would like to see the EGW parts up close and personal.

The Brown precision parts are just so doggone good that I really have a difficult time believing that "fully machined from bar stock" could be anything much more than just higher cost.
Try the EGW parts QK, I think you'd like them. I prefer them over Brown's and WAY over Wilson's.

    Lol!

That watch was my great grandfather's I believe, from the 1800s. It doesn't work anymore. But I included it with the pics because I felt that it, like the 1911, has a timeless classic feel to it.

can't you get it fixed? if i had a grandfather who left me something like that, i'd want to carry and use it every day, especially carrying a clssic gun like that.

^ Thanks! I love it too, 1911's are great. And super comfortable to carry with the right holster setup. It's on my right hip as I type this.

Also, I just went through this thread, and great pics guys, let's see more of those awesome 1911's! I haven't seen one yet that I didn't like.

I've thought about getting it fixed, the problem is simple (broken mainspring) but I don't think I'd ever carry it. Far too old and valuable with all the family heritage. It stays in a display case, except for random times (like for pics, lol).

I do wear a watch that my grandfather left to me every day though. It's a vintage 1965 Gruen automatic. Great watch, never needs batteries...it winds itself just by natural arm movements.

Sorry no photos yet but, 1911 is what I have gone to from DA stuff. Never could shoot revolvers or DA autos worth a darn.....
First was a Charles Daly EFS. I knew exactly what I was getting. Polished ramp, got new springs, new extractor and viola...a great running 1911.
Then, got Kimber Ultra CDP, what a breath of fresh air.
Then, Springer Loaded, damn what a gun, damn what a gun!
