My dad bought a Bersa thunder .380 a month ago. I fired it last week, and I have to say, it's a sweet weapon! Although I prefer a larger caliber platform, i could see a use for just such a gun in certain circumstances.
And... I've never heard anything bad about the Bersa. It gets rave reviews.
I own both a Bersa Thunder .32 and also a Thunder .380 and at times will carry one or the other.
I have confidence in both. The .32 acp was once the gun which police in Europe carried and it has also been been carried by several armies. Many people were killed with a .32.
The .380 has more punch with still very controllable recoil so it will do more damage.
The .32 having less recoil is easier to get follow up shots.
A double tap of either to center mass will really hurt you.
An interesting thread ressurection from the pre-Ruger LCP days.
I just can't keep up, OD*! I'm even old-fashioned in my .380 "bug" choice. Got a P3AT back in December of 2005 and felt I was "in style" for once in my life as it was the "latest and greatest" and hot on the market. Then Ruger co-opted the P3AT design and ran away with the .380 bug market. I'm still "holding my nose" and toting the P3AT when nothing else will effectively hide.
Truth is, I don't place much stock in plastic pistols, double-action-only triggers, or the .380 cartridge.
Gotta agree Bryan, that's why mine is only a bug.
IMO.........I would opt for the .380.....but more important to me would be to ensure that the Mouse Gun was reliable as so many aren't in those calibers.
Well guys now you can get the Micro Desert Eagle
Magnum Research Micro Desert Eagle, Nickel - Style # ME380, MRI Shop / Firearms
.380 hands down. Absolutely no contest.
I have bolth in Kel Techs .
The .32 has less recoil bolth are great :urla9ub:
I have the Beretta Tomcat AND the Sig 238 and like both of them. According to the Beretta website, the .32acp in 60 gr. in their Tomcat is about the same as a.380: not sure how they came to that conclusion, but that's what they say. I shoot both well and slip the .32 in my pocket for a quick run to get gas, etc. In the summer, depending on the pockets I'm wearing, I take the Sig--- would not want to be shot by either one, if the truth be known! Winter, it's going to be my ever lovin' XD9SC!!:king:
I'd have a hard time spending as much on .380 ammo as .45 and don't care much for the snappiness of the P3AT as the P32 has less recoil, ammo is less expensive, one more round, and slide lock (in the KT's). I'm most likely going with the P32.
