ammo here is hit and miss..but at least at Wal Mart here was a honest shocker...S&W .40 and .45 ACP EXACT SAME PRICES. they had the 100 boxes of WWB in S&W .40 and .45 ACP BOTH were priced at $32. Although I did pick up a 100 box of UMC HP's for $32 also which if you think about it is a great deal on SD ammo. But yes...ammo is still hit and miss around here that day they had everything in stock(and several boxes of everything)...and it was on the shelves for SEVERAL days...then I went back 2 weeks later and all of a sudden down to literally NOTHING again... Ive got a .40 cal and its ok...but to be honest now that I can get .40 and .45 for basically the SAME price...I see no reason not to step "up" to .45....reason I went .40 in the first place is it used to be almost $5 a box cheaper then .45 acp.

I love my SA1911 45 but here 45 ammo is like finding gold and if you do find it they price it like gold the 40cal is a good round and I can find tgt and specialty ammo here all day long at a good price.

Did anyone watch the episode this week of best defense on outdoor channel where they were looking at cover behind a book shelf and shooting different calibers through it with stacks of books and kind of disserviced the 45 cal round at the end , it was interesting up to that point . which it started on cover then became a contest of which caliber had the most penetration but in my mind was always taught for carry you didnt want a round to over penetraite but to stay in and hit with the most kennetic energy .

I should have picked you up some they had at least 5 of the 100 round WWB boxes prices at $32 at walmart the other day in both .40 and .45ACP(same price for both) I went back last week and shelves are empty again lol... I hear what your saying though.

I see you're in clayton. What range do you shoot at locally. Not too far from you in durham, usually shoot in raleigh or apex. I'd like to know how that gun works out for you.

I usually shoot at personal defense and handgun center in Garner.
