    And...

When it came down to choosing between a Mossberg and a Remington it just came down to the fact that I could get a better deal at the time on my Remington.

The Mossy Pump has dual activation push rods moving the block. That's why there are the military choice. That said, the military also made a serious mistake with the 1911 for all those years. 50% right is better than 100% wrong though!

False. You do have to aim a shotgun, the pattern's so tight at defensive range, it's just as easy to miss as with any other gun. Not everyone can control a shotgun, they do have recoil and will knock some shooters onto their bottoms. The bad guy, upon hearing a round chambered, is not going to exclaim, "Sacre Merd! Nous avon peur dans les culottes!" and run away; he's likely to drop, find cover, and start shooting in the direction the noise came from. Meanwhile, you'll be crashing into door frames and furniture trying to wheel the shotgun around. I don't recommend it.
