    Stoeger Cougar in .45acp

Just saw on their website where Stoeger has come out with the Cougar in .45acp! Anybody seen one yet or read anything about it? My birthday is in April and I'm looking for my present to myself! Thanks!

I haven't seen the .45 yet, but that's a great under rated gun. It's on my list too, in .45!

If you want a .45 in a non 1911 platform you would be hard pressed to beat that Cougar if it shoots as well as the 9mm's I've shot!

It looks a lot like a Beretta. Is there a relationship there?

Basically, it is a Beretta. It's made in Turkey on the same machines Beretta made the Beretta Cougars on. Just cheaper due to lower costs in Turkey.

May I suggest you try out the Ruger P345 first.

Get the Stoeger / Cougar when is at your dealers store. One great pistol if it was and is like the beretta Cougar 8045 I use to own from what I have seen and read about these pistol's, and own 2 Stoeger Cougars in 9mm and 40S&W and plan to own a Stoeger in 8045 with pic-rail and don't look back
    just mho.

They are reputable guns; ashas been said they have /aremade on the same machines as berettas.

Beretta owns Stoeger. Been patiently waiting for the 45 to come out since they moved the machining equipment from Italy to Turkey. I have the Stoeger 8040 but also want the 45. Nobody out there wants to sell their Beretta 8045...

I've had a 9mm for about a year and love it! Read about the history of the gun and a good review of it here: Huey's Gunsight: Stoeger Cougar 8000 9mm - Beretta on the Cheap!

For CCW, it may be on the large size but it is workable. The Cougar is my range gun, home defense, etc. My Kahr P9 is the CCW. However, if the your know what hits the you know what and it gets bad out there, I know I'll be grabbing my Cougar. In a 45 ACP....sweet!!!

I have a p345 - shot it at the range yesterday - great gun. Some will not like the long DA first shot / SA subsequent shots. Others will not like the magazine safety. I like both features.

Used to have one but traded it. Excellent gun but those slim thumb safeties and me didn't get along. Waiting to check out the Cougar .45 but it will have to work to beat out my XD-45 compact!

I've always been intrigued the Cougars. Every time I handle one I'm wanting one. I'd still like to shoot one and I'd like to see it in a compact version like the old Berettas.

I recently purchased the Stoeger 8045 F,and absolutely love it! Seven inches long and 5 inches high. Extremely well made
(all metal) and so,so easy to field strip. At two pounds (unloaded) it has great feel and a grip that fills the hand. I qualified
for my concealed carry license with my Stoeger 8000 9mm and liked it so much, that I had to get the .45 ACP. I will always
have these two pistols and don't need anything else. I highly recommend the Stoeger line to anyone that wants a gun thats
high quality and reasonably price. You can't go wrong!
