    Do you name your gun(s)?

I have a Glock 27. I haven't named it yet. Thinking of naming it something similar to its serial number (which I won't divulge, but suffice it to say it's perhaps conducive to naming).

Only one, but it's the one I was originally issued.

All of my sidearms have been named. The names are more of a discrete way for the wife and I to discuss my guns in a public place. Most often my wife (SHMBO'ed) will simply ask if my 'buddy' with me or 'is your friend coming with us' kinda thing.

Have a pair of G23's: Pancho and Lefty
    Ruger P85: Juan
    Sig P229: Pedro
    Springfield 1911: Jose'

I dunno why I started with the 'Mexican' names other than it was, and still is, a funny way to 'refer' to my sidearms while out and about and not wanting anyone other than me and the wife to understand our conversation.

None of my long guns are named

You know...just like how you teach your dogs certain attack commands -- in another language, you don't let anyone know what they are. It is a technique in case of an extreme emergency. Just my thoughts...

The only reason for the names is when we are out in public so the wife asks were Kim?

    My Kimber is named Kim.

My Beretta 92FS Compact L type M Is named Sophia.

    My PPK/S is Named Walter.

lead slinging life saver? I don't need to name my gun. Just like I don't name my wrenches, screwdrivers and hammers. The pistol I have is a tool; if I ever need it; to save my life.

I don't name any of my guns, but if I did...

My Remington 870 Police Tactical would be hence forth known as: Kimbo Slice.

During all the years that I have owned handguns (25 now) I have only named one of them.

I owned a Glock 37 .45 GAP pistol for about 1/2 a year before I sold it to a friend.

I kept it stoked with Winchester Silvertips, it functioned with 100% reliability and was soft shooting (185 gr hp); besides it was the only defensive ammo on hand at the time.

I called her, Betsy the Vampire Slayer.
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.
