Curious as to what the members here like/would buy to use as a 9mm carry? I am currently waiting for my pistol license here in NY and am trying to do my research early!
I was at the gun store recently, an I took another look at the Springfield EMP 9mm pistol. While I have looked at them at length, previously, for a moment I could not clearly identify that tiny little pistol in the display case. It was so thin and small, relatively speaking. It fits well in the hand, it's relatively light for a steel 1911. I wish it had 10+ rounds, but that's about its only failing, from my vantage point. An amazing little gun.
The G19 is one of the best 9mm out there. I carry a 23, in 40 and would have the 19 if I didnt have a P228. That P228 is a VERY close 2nd as one of the best 9mm carry guns. I would recommend strongly either of those.
More of a 45 ACP fan than 9mm for carry...but on a few occasions I will carry my Keltec P11. If I had no other choice except a 9mm and were to buy a pistol to carry I like the XD in 9mm
Glock 19 and 26 are two of my favorites, but they are not one of the most slim handguns out there. I would look at the Kahr CW9 or Walther PPS. If money is tight, then the hard to find and popular Keltec PF9 would be a good choice.
My favorite most fun prettiest carry gun is my new Taurus PT-92 Beretta knockoff...as long as I can carry it inside a range bag. My Kel-Tec P-11 is not a fun gun but I am a fan, even though it hurts my trigger finger and my hand.
I had same issue with pf9 i took some plastic off the end of the trigger. my fat finger was getting caught between the trigger tip and the finger guard. that solved the issue.
oh and my preferred 9mm - pf9 the smallest affordable compact 9mm.
I have several 9MM's. 3 Custom HP's, 5 Glocks (26,19, (2) 17's and 34) and a Walther PPS. My favorite carry 9 is the Walther PPS - Flat , Small and it works - only issue is price of mags.
Beretta 92FS Never had a FTF shoots great. The military tested and replaced the 1911 with it. The army tried to make it fail but it passed. The pistol was featured in NRA Rifleman mag last month and this month. For a 9mm it was the most tested pistol in service history. It been around for 25 years and the US ordered more.
Browning Hi-Power is my 9mm of choice, carried IWB.
I just recently picked up a Kahr PM9 and have started using it as a pocket-carry option.
