    SP101 or Taurus 617

I'm going to get a new snubbie with my income tax but i'm not sure on which one to get. I'm pretty set on either getting a SP101 or a 617 any opinions would be appreciated.

If I could afford either I'd go with the Ruger SP101. I have a Taurus 85UL and like it allot, but feel in the long run the Ruger or Smith would be the better buy.

    Get the Ruger.
We will be much better off when we learn to deal with things as they really are, instead of how we wish them to be!

I'd go with the Ruger myself. In fact, I did.

    SP101 or Taurus 617
I just happen to have both these guns. I'll take the SP101 hands down however the 617 is also a decent gun and puts 7 shots at your service as opposed to the 5 shot SP101. I'll still take the Ruger. My opinion. YMMV.

Just wondering about ammo availability for the 327. Not seeing much on the internet. Are you able to stock ammo for the gun?

And so did I. Darn good purchase. I paid about $35.00 too much for it but at this point I am 100% satisfied and don't care.

    Best!

It seems like the sp101 is everyone's choice. Other question are there any advantages to getting the model with the hammer?

The biggest thing is being able to shoot it in single action mode; but that is not a issue at all if its going to be a carry gun.
