I love the idea of this gun, checked one out the other day and it was amazingly comfortable in my hard, though it is a little wide, and I dont have large hands by any means, it was still nice. I have looked up a few reviews on it and it seems to be fairly mixed. I heard some bad things about reliability.
I currently have an xd40sc and have about 1000 rounds through her with not a single failure of any sort.
Just looking for some input on the warthog for shitzngiggles. I found a couple fairly cheap at the local shop so......

I've looked at them and they are interesting to me but I would prefer a Carry 9 or the 45 version (forget the name)for me.

It's on my 'wish list' too.

I'm hesitant to comment on anything that I've never owned, but having researched the heck out of the Warthog, I'll share what I've found.

    * I suspect it has no more or less mechanical problems than any other Kimber, Taurus, SA or other mid-range priced 1911's. There seem to be good ones and bad ones.

    * You'll also read that the finish isn't very resilient.

For some reason, I still really want one...

I don't have the Warthog, but I do have it's little sibling the Hawg 9. I'm a lefty and sent it back to Para for the left saftey. It seems a little loose but it works. I have had an occasional FTE. Therefore I don't carry it.

Dont own one but know someone that does. Nice pistol but he will not carry it as it does have some FTF and FTE issues. Sent it back to Para and they made attempt to fix but very slow service and still does not work 100%.

I myself was looking for a small lightweight officers model size pistol and had looked at warthogs quite some time ago but ended up purchasing an STI Escort 45 instead

But they are mean lookng pistols

It looks very nice, and it is a very interesting concept; but not thanks.

Had a NiteHawg, the Parakote finish was/is crap plain and simple. The gun ran OK, but extra mags cost $50.00.

I don't think I have any pictures of mine, but after 6 months of carry the finish started flaking off.

Yah. I think a G30 will happen before the Warthog for me.

I did 'eye-ball' them for a while...they did not really impress me and they felt thicker that a Glock...I eventually went the Glock route.OMO
