    Mosquito

Is the Sig Mosquito the same size as the P226? Their website made it sound so. I was hoping for a smaller size for my daughter. Might have to go with a Walther P22.

It's a little smaller, I don't know the exact dimensions, but it is definitely smaller.

I think it is advertised to be a 90% scale of the 226.

I bought my daughter one,the trigger pull isn't that bad,but if you shoot bulk ammo in them they are prone to FTE about 10% of the time, they recommend CCI ammo

I have one for plinking. It is a beautiful gun. I only used CCI Mini Mags for it. It is highly recommended as ammo. After about 1000 rounds, you have to clean it. Good gun for target practice in the basement.

Last time I checked MiniMags were expensive. I want a gun that will eat Feds or Remington like my Ruger Mark II.

I've got one. It's fun and cheap to shoot, I agree with other shooters that the CCI MM are the way to go. Still cheap compared to other things that have the same hand feel.

Ha, a 12 lb trigger pull. What is that 12/4 nomenclature anyways.

It is very smooth and has nice sights. My S&W 422 was way less expensive to buy and is just as accurate under my hand.

I remember reading that the Mosquito is 10% smaller than the 226, my daughter (14) picked it out I took her to the gun shop and let her touch and feel all the 22's and she liked the Mosquito the best.

A box of a hundred at Cabela's cost me $6.99??? Is that expensive? I always buy 4 - 6 boxes of those everytime unless otherwise I know I will be plinking all day...then I will get more. My husband went to our favourite gun store down the road. It cost him almost $9.. for a hundred.

Shot a Mosquito last week at Shooter's World, the guy didn't want to let me use it because they didn't have MiniMags, I had some for my Walther p22, so he let me take it. It was my wife's first time shooting either and she liked the Sig a lot more. It did FTE with another Hi velocity round I tried after the MiniMags were gone, but flawless with the CCI's.
BTW CCI MiniMags are $6.99 at Cabela's in Glendale

Looking at the specs is good, but going and holding it is better. I have larger than average hands, but I could barely hold the Mosquito. Without the mag extension, my ring finger was almost hanging off the grip. I would say let here try a few herself and see what she likes.
    Walk softly ...
