New FNX pistols

The new FNX 9 and FNX 40 pistols offer new ergonomic polymer frames with a low-bore axis for flat shooting and less recoil for improved control. Checkered grip panels should reduce slippage during shooting. Also included are four interchangeable backstrap inserts to customize fit and feel. The pistols allow fully ambidextrous operating controls.

The profiled stainless steel slide has cocking serrations in the front and rear, and a 4-inch hammer-forged stainless barrel delivers long life and pinpoint accuracy. The guns arrive with a decocker and manual safety.

Humm, not bad! I don't care for that style rail, but no gun is 100% of what I want. Looks like FN put some thought into the fit for big/small, L/R hands.

Been looking for a while for an FN at the local shops with no luck. I was interested in the .357sig but have yet been able to hold much less have one. I like the looks of this as well the only concern is the grip look like they are tailored for a smaller hand, maybe it just me.

They discontinued the .357 for 2010. New FNX's come with four backstraps so you should be able to find one that fits. Great shooting guns, eat anything you put in them.

Interesting. Recalls the many great features of my Browning BDM. Perhaps FN is seeing that the time is right for such features. Trouble is, this one's likely to be ~8" OAL and fat as prior models. FN needs to make an utterly reliable pistol that's smaller than 5" OAL, 4" high, 0.9" wide, with similar features. If they can do that, then they'll have my complete attention.

I like the looks of it. FN obviously knows quality...hopefully they will catch on more in the SD market

FN owns Browning (and Winchester) and has building firearms for them since the early 1900's. Check out their website, interesting history.

What the thickness on the new model? I shot an FNP9 and it shot well...but it was thick if I remember it right it was 1.55" thick. That's a little too chunky for CCW IMO. Great range gun, I'd think.

I like the FNP-9 and anyone that has fired mine has liked it. FNX is lighter.

It's as thick as any other full size double stack 9mm pistol and it actually may be thinner than some. As for weight, it's surprising light for the size and although the bore axis seems high, the recoil is very soft. FN really did a great job with the 9mm.
