Kimber 1911 tl/rl vs Para Warthog- can't decide

I recently tried to trade in my full size Kimber with the Para Warthog but they wouldn't give me much for it. One guy standing by took interest and offered me $800 for it. It's the TLE/RL model with a SureFire tactical light (no laser). I don't know what to do.. I paid almost $1200 for it brand new, and it's been such a great gun, but I want something smaller that holds more rounds (even if it's only 2 more). I don't want to spend $ on another so that's why I'm thinking of selling. Has anyone went from Kimber to Para? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

IMO If you have a Kimber working 100% then keep it. Not such a fan of the Kimber Ultra Carry but if you want something smaller that works 100% like I was looking for a month ago I went with an STI Escort in 45...

The Warthog is nice but has a reputation of hit or miss from the 2 people that I know that own them.

    Good luck

Why would you want to swap a Kimber for a Para of any kind?

I would not trade the Kimber for a Warthog.OMO
You have to decide what feels good in your hand, and hope that it goes 'boom' every time.

If the kimber works and is proven over a period of time I would keep it. You might be trading a working kimber for a spotty para.

I have a TLE/RL II. I would value it at $1000.00 used but it is not for sale. I don't think I will ever sell it. I is a great gun.

Thanks for the replies! I had the chance to do some research and (I think) I've decided on the Kimber Ultra Carry LG and the Glock 26. I need something more portable (wife would appreciate it at the range too) and really like the 45cal. Kimber also seems to have a better reputation. If looks were any indication of reliability, the Warthog would win (and had won before I actually did my research), it's nice looking! I was only planning to spend around $850, but looks like I'll pay a little more for the Ultra carry and get the G26 later. I'm going to miss my TLE/RL though, it was my first, and never disappointed.

I love the warthog, but due the the issues with reliability I keep hearing I decided against it. my local gun shop has three of them ranging from $600-700 used. But I cant pull the trigger on the wallet for one...

I hope the Ultra Carry lives up to the positive experience you have had with your TLE/RL...

My son had a nighthawg for a very short period. The Slide catch kept vibrating out so the slide would not lock back and it was a bear to fire.

I liked his Kimber much more.
