Mag springs wear from constant load/unload. If the mags are in either state, they are fine.
For example, I was deployed for 15 months....I left 2x P229/.40 mags, 2x P239 mags and 5x Magpul PMAGs loaded in my safe. When I got back, I shot all of them...all fed correctly...no problems.
