Shot my new CZ 75D PCR

Finally had time to take my new PCR 9mm to the range for it's first function test. 200 rounds later and all I can say is WOW! Very reliable and accurate right out of the box. (well I did clean and lub it before going to the range) I'm a 1911 fan and am used to smooth, crisp triggers and the CZ's trigger is gritty, but everything I read about the CZs say it will smooth out with more rounds down range. Now to find a good, left handed, OWB holster. Thinking about the High Noon holster line. I was really impressed with the new CZ.

Thumbs UP! A PCR and High Noon holster are a good combo.

    That trigger will improve.

James, from High Noon responded and advised me to try the Skin Deep for a Glock 19, thinking it may fit the PCR. He said if it didn't to return it. I ordered it tonight.
    Thanks!

Yeah, the PCR is a great pistol and my favorite. I dry fired it (with Azoom snap cap and mag inserted) about 500 times and have put about 500 rounds down the pipe and the trigger is pretty good. The springs still keep it heavy, but I like my defensive pistols that way. You could always have the springs changed (or change them yourself) if you prefer a lighter pull.

I picked up a used P-01 this past Thursday and while it too looks great, the PCR just seems classier to me.

One thing I wanted to mention, I'd read somewhere in the CZ forum to make sure the trigger spring is lubed during initial cleaning. I'd take that a step further and make sure all frame springs were lubed. That's sort of standard practice for all semi's, though.

    Anyway, hope you enjoy it.

EDIT - I just remembered that the mags for my PCR came with the metal base plates. My pinky used to rest right on the edge and I didn't like how it felt. I switched them out to the rubber base pad (http://czcustom.com/Rubber-Base-Pads...Magazines.aspx) and it make a world of difference. They can be a little costly, but worth every penny IMHO. They fit and look perfect on the 14 round mags.

The PCR is the sleeper in the CZ line.

My wife finally gave up Glocks and went CZ:

From the box, I knew it was something special.

After installing 15 pound mainsprings sent by CZ-US, in both of our guns..

Her gun has 3 times the trigger than that of my P-01 we purchased about
    a month apart.

CZ-USA installed some Tru_Dot nites a few months ago.

They really improved both of our shooting.

While CZ-USA normally wants the entire gun sent back.
I only sent in her slide.

My last range session showed the sights to be dead-nuts on!

One ragged hole @ 15 yards with cheap ball ammo!

I'd say that the good folks in Kansas City, did a great job on her gun.

I can only dream about having such a crisp and light SA trigger, combined by a smooth and light DA stroke.

I'm told by other PCR owners that the triggers can range from OK to
    Superb.

    This one is pure icing!

Just picked up a PCR. Can't wait to get out and shoot it. Hopefully it's as accurate as yours.

Sweet rig...love those grips! Mine wears the CZCustom Cocobolo grips. I also have the rubber mag bases cz75luver mentioned and those are well worth it. Another good upgrade is the Bedair guide rod and the 15lb Wolff main spring.

I own a CZ and I like it very much, but nothing compares to the 1911 Colt.

Sweet! I may see about posting a CZ-based family photo.

Update: Took me a little time to find the right blanket . . .

The Jericho on the right is actually a .45ACP and a virgin. I'll eventually get around to verifying its functioning.

I have a set of wood grips for the CZ compacts and while they looked pretty, I didn't like how they fattened the grip just a little so I reverted back to the rubber grips. There's that and only the outside face is coated/protected. I may be wrong, but I felt that the wood might absorb CLP so I would have to remove/reinstall the grips each time I cleaned the pistol so I stuck with the rubber.

Here is the CZ P-01, the PCR's brother. Grips by Omega, in Gabon ebony.

It's an amazingly great gun. With a bit of massaging by the gunsmith, the nearly all of the grittiness can be removed from the trigger. This one has Trijicon night sights installed, Omega grips, stainless guide rod, Wolff springs. Reliable and accurate.

    ccw9mm,

You did one of the best write ups I've ever read about the P-01. Awesome work.
