Are the Brown and Wilson 1911 truly as much better as they claim? Or is it a lot of hype, marketing, and brand power driving the perceived quality? I'm not trying to ruffle feathers here I'm just curious about how they compared to "cheap" 1911s (Kimber,Springfield, Sig, Taurus, etc)

Currently .05 & .10 my SP-101 that's in the layaway. Thinking hard on next getting a S&W 629 PC.
+1 for also needing to save .01 for ammo!

To finish my collection (for life) I need:
1. Springfield Armory GI Champion 4" (would love a Wilson or Ed Brown but could never part with that much money for a gun). I want a plain jane Commander that won't break the bank.
2. Kahr P380 with night sights. I have the P9, K9, and MK9 and I want a true pocket gun with hold open on last round, real sights, and a good DAO trigger.
3. A 12 Remington 870 Express 12 GA. Don't want this one bad but need to fill the shottie niche.
4. Not sure on this one but for some reason I just love a 4, 5/8" Ruger Single Six convertible.
that's it; finished.
If I did have unlimited funds and could spend them without feeling guilty for life, I'd have someone build me an Officer's CCO with a bobtail conversion or I'd get the Springfield EMP, loose the Ambi, get the front strap checkered and die happy. :)

If i'm not saving for more reloading supplies i'm saving for a ruger super redhawk 4" in .44 mag :-D

Yeah, that's what they all say.
I'm saving for a decent Hi-Power to use as a base gun for an SRT conversion by Heirloom Precision... Heirloom Precision - Custom firearms by Ted Yost, Jason Burton, and Steve Bailey
I'm already in line to have Grant Cunningham do a full makeover on a Detective Special, but his waiting list has only moved about 50 places in the past year.

But more realistically before that, a Remington 870 Tactical or Mossberg 590 for the house.
Springfield Armory XDM-40 Black.

Got the OACP, and the LW Commander, so a Gold Cup finishes the set.
Got $1100 cash in fist bonus at work today, but bills made it into pennies, so I guess I'm on the way.
I'm not a lawyer or a LEO, just a pantload with a computer.
Me: 1/7 barreled M16A4 clone with free float rail, Rainier comp/FH, MIAD grip, and Vickers two point. Irons only. I want to get into Appleseed this year.

The Wilsons' Ed Browns, et al, are beautiful guns and real works of master craftmanship. But for daily carry and SD situations, will they shoot any better or be any more reliable than my 400.00 RIA 1911?
I have a compact model and a full size model and they have functioned flawlessly from day one. They have shot everything I put in them, no breakin period required.
I admit I'd love one of these beauties, and I'm saving up my money with an eye on a Sig P220 or 225, although I may just get another 1911, perhaps a Springer?
