Sig Mosquito Vs P220 SAO Carry

Took a few pictures with my cell phone of the 2, kinda surprised at the marginal difference in size between the two.

Was especially surprised in the width of the two compared.

Interesting. I'll stick with the 45 though....as far as carry that is.

Of course, no plans at all the carry the .22!

Just found it odd that they were so similar in size. Makes the Mosquito that much better as a training platform, aside from having a trigger pull a good bit heavier than the 220. I always saw the Mosquito compared to the 226 and the 239, never the 220 until I was able to lay em side by side.

To clarify a bit, I wasn't considering the .22 for carry. But the 220 is the "Carry" model.

Makes for a great practice gun in 22 being so similar to your carry weapon.

I've also got both - practice all day long with the Mosquito for a fraction of the cost of the P-220!!! Plus, you get the added benefit of doing a lot of malfunction clearing practice!! Just kidding - my Mosquito has been pretty reliable, at least on CCI MiniMags. The P-220 will eat ANYTHING.

That was Sigs intention. Making a 22 as close as they could to their flagship models.

Glock needs to get with the program and make a "training model"...

How does the P220 Carry compare in size to the P220 compact? Anybody have a picture?

Wow... I've never seen the Mosquito in person and I'm sure surprised to see that it's larger than I thought. I like it!

Yes, my Mosquito has been prone to failures until I switched to CCI Mini-Mags. Since the switch I have not had one single failure in over 500 rounds. I highly suggest picking up some Mini-Mags!!! 36gr HP or 40gr solids both work just as well.

I carry the P220 ST as a duty weapon. I like the idea of the Mosquito and the size. The only problem is that I have heard nothing but problems with feeding issues. I'm not sure of the ammo quality that they were using or anything else.

I also own both a P220R, and a Mosquito. The Mosquito is supposed to be 90% the size of the P220R

As others have said, the Mosquito is ammo sensitive. But the MiniMags clear up the problem. I have around 6000 rounds of MMs through without a hitch.

Actually, I know thee are .22 conversion kits for most Glocks which allow your carry gun, if you carry a Glock, to become your actual practice gun.

I'v never used one of the kits and have been kind of curious about them since I primarily carry a G19.

    Might be an option though.
