I'm talking right off the shelf, no customization, no trigger job, no new nothing!
For what purpose?
Better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees.
For defensive carry and self protection, I have to say the Glock 19. This is based on the fact that the Iraqi Security Forces purchased 270,000 of them in a part of the world where a reliable and dependable handgun can mean the matter of life and death every single day. They also turned down free M-9 from the US because of all the issues with them that were virtually non existent with the Glocks in that harsh environment.
That is a pretty outstanding endorsement for the Glock Line of Service Pistols in my book!
Glock 20 for duty. Glock 29 for concealed carry.
An Ed Brown Classic Custom 1911, it comes LOADED.

Wilson Combat or Nighthawk, 1911's...any model would make me happy.
It would definitely be something from Ed Brown or Nighthawk...

Ok, I was going to mention the new Wilson Combat Ms. Sentinel. In that I like to keep my dreams sorta real in some fashion, I think I already own what I like.

I will never trust my life to a 100 year old deeply flawed design ever again and I build pimped out 1911 range toys.
The Vietnam Conflict cured me for life and that life was saved by a Makarov in my boot more than once when the rust magnet and jamomatic failed to go bang. I finally just threw it away and filled the holster with extra ammo for the Mak. FIDO, Good to Go! Whoo Ahaa!
I want to see a 1911 do this........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ygcfp40RTKs
Well....there's four to my count for something from Wilson Combat. Interesting....I'm going to monitor this one!
