I consider the 622 to be an outstanding plinker. I've never much cared for it as a target gun, though it is plenty accurate. It is very light, reliable enough and fits the hand well. I hate the mag release and take-down is, to say the least, a bit awkward. They are well made, much better than a Mosquito or P22, but not the equal of a nice Buckmark...IMHO. The most current gun I'd compare it to is the Beretta NEOS in feel, and wierdness. I would not pay more than $300.

Great plinker. The gun shown is a target version (adjustable sights). They also made these in a blued version and in 4" or 6" barrels. The boreline is very low which aids in pointability and lessens recoil (not that that is a concern with a .22). Takedown is easy, once you learn the trick (you need a fired .22 case) - much, much easier than a Ruger Mk I, II or III. Mag release isn't a problem, just different as it is on the front strap. It is easily manipulated by the middle or trigger finger of the shooting hand. These guns were based on the design of the S&W Model 61 Escort. The $300 ceiling sounds a bit high. If you can get it in the $200 to $250 range, and it's in decent shape, it is definitely worthwhile. JMHO / YMMV.
