    My Brand New P238

I just picked up a new Sig P238 on Saturday after noon. I have been talking with a dealer via email/phone regarding this purchase. I have to give Sig alot of kudos on this new model. It is every thing I love about "big guns" in a little very easy-to-carry package. The sights are crisp, the craftmanship is excellent and it is accurate, accurate, accurate. Did I mention that it is amazingly accurate?

I have shot 100 rounds through it (50 85gr. & 50 95 gr.) at about 15 yrds. and I was able to keep a consistent 5 inch group...Still need to find my "sweat spot", when I do, I am sure I will tighten it up even more. I did have one slight problem, I bought one extra clip (not from Sig) and it would fail to eject the last casing. I took a close look at the mags and notice a slite difference in the "ejecting platform". So for now I will use it as my back up mag. I will have to inform my dealer about the issue. Other than that issue with the mag the operated flawlessly.

My 1st Sig and it won't be my last. As for why I chose the P238. I have always carried a G23 and there has been alot of times when I just didn't feel like strapping it on. Thus, leaving it at home, leaving me unprotected. I don't like that feeling at all. So my mind set has changed to...."the best weapon is the one you have on you". This gun is very comfortable in my front pocket and I will never leave home without it.

Anybody out there have the Sig P238? I would love to hear what you think. Also, I am interested what others think about pocket carry guns.

In closing, I am a new register and I am looking forward to sharing stories and views with the Defensive Carry community. We all have a lot to learn from each other and if we all keep that in mind it will improved us as responsible 2nd Amendment excersizing citizens.

I purchased a Sig P238 Equinox last week. After 150 rounds I am happy to say not one complaint, it is a very accurate pistol, and will be nice to carry on days above 90 degrees, Normally I carry a Kimber Ultra CDP II 45 acp or a Pro Carry II I love 1911's some days I will carry the Sig and one of the Kimbers. http://i758.photobucket.com/albums/x...Picture007.jpg

Welcome from South Arkansas...I have had a 238 for about 3 weeks and I love it!!! The only trouble I had was from some crappy Indonesian ammo (Herters) I was simply amazed at how accurate it is...I bought a aftermarket ( I think it is a MecGar..don't quote me) mag and it looks just like the Sig mag...has worked flawlessly. Good luck with it... Robbie

That is one sweet little 380. If it wasnt for the Kahr version...I would have not trouble picking the Sig. But both would get heavy consideration. Welcome to the forum from West Virginia!!

    Verrrrry Cool!!!

    Welcome to the forum!

I just picked up the 238 last week and I've been putting through it's paces. 100 rounds with NO failures so far. Next week I'll put another 100 downrange along with a box of Critical Defense and put it in carry rotation.

    Welcome aboard and congratulations!

Now... after you post a pic, how about a range report?

    Very nice.
I went to the range today and checked the 238 out when I was done. I think that will be my next purchase.

Thanks everyone. Its is great to hear from all of you! I will have figure out how to post pictures, so I can share with the group. As far as the P238 that I picked up. It is the two tone model with Blackwood grips. I would love to see crimson produce a laser "grip" for this gun. I doubt if we will ever see one one due to the already existing trigger guard laser already in production. We will just have to wait and see.

As far as my P238s' break-in, I will most likely go to the range at some point this week. My wife really wants to put a few rounds through it as well. I'll will keep you all informed.
