    I'm Po'ed!!!!

I just purchased a pair of Taurus model 85's in blue one with a 2" and the other with a 2.5" barrel about 10 days ago

I decided to get some range time with the 2" and managed to put about 98 rounds through it and on the 99th round ,the screw on the frame that holds the cylinder on broke and separated from the gun and it fell into three pieces in my hand!!!!

I realized what could have happened and decided to pack it up and go home instead of firing my sigma or the other 2.5" ,only after on the way home I realized how pissed I was not because of the fact the gun is only TEN days old but because i or the guys I was shooting with could have been seriously hurt!!!!

I am returning the gun to Taurus , it ships tomorrow back to Florida to be serviced and mostly likely turned in to a safe queen as I feel I can never trust it again after that episode.

That stinks. I've never heard of that happening. People seem to have great experiences with Taurus revolvers. I don't have any, but I have a Taurus PT709 and it's been great. I've got 2 S&W snubbies and a Ruger large frame 357. Never had a problem with any revolvers before...or any of my semis now that I think about it. Guess I've been lucky.

I have never had a problem with Taurus. Heard of people having problems, but never encountered one myself. Glad no one was hurt. Thanks for the post and keep us updated.

There is nothing wrong with the Sigma as a defensive firearm except for the fact that the trigger feels a bit mushy.
The Sigma has really had an unfair "pox" put on it only because the "Gun" magazines back then needed a firearm to nit-pick on.
The Sigma has nice ergonomics and good pointability and it's one of the best deals out there (price wise) if a person just needs a reliable firearm for not too much money.

Sorry to hear about the problems with your pistola. Although Taurus seems to have more than its share of unhappy people (not all, but a lot), any gun can become 'mechanically challenged'.
Good luck with the service department. Tell them 'ret' said to make it right.
