    S&W 642 package

A about a month ago I bought a new 642-1, the day I found out they were available without the internal lock. My friend and I test fired it about 200 times in his backyard range with various self defense loads I bought online. My favorite I've found so far is the Buffalo bore 158 grain lead hollow point +p. The recoil actually stung my hand pretty bad so I knew it would be a perfect carry load. This I got the pocket holster and crimson trace shown in the picture. As soon as tax season's over I'll be taking the mandatory CHL class and getting my license to carry. Anyways, here's the pics, took 'em with my cell phone.

I wish I had a backyard range. But congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the forum. I have been putting off getting a snub, but every time I see one I get a little jealous... maybe its a sign.

Thanks, I'm really happy about this gun and setup. I was really surprised how accurate it shot too. We were putting rounds through the same hole at 5 yards. Don't be too jealous of the outdoor range, it's freezing and there's a foot of snow on the ground, lol.

Man, I'm a pretty big fan of snubs although I don't much care for the warmer loads, unless I'm carrying an all steel variant.

    Very nice....

Worst recoil I have ever encountered is from my TCP loaded with Buffalo Bore +p.
Much worse that a .357 snubbie w/magnum loads.

Great choice. Yup, I like it when my 'carry' rounds hurt my hand too .
