Congrats, I don't have one but i hear they are great guns, I just dont like the grip safety(just don't feel right) but you could always tape it.... lol
You may not like guns. You may choose not to own one. That is your right.
You might not believe in God. That is your choice.
However, if someone breaks into your home at 3AM the first two things you are going to do are:
    1) Call someone with a gun.
2)Pray they get there in time." - A wise man

The XDsc is a fine gun, especially for cc. You won't regret getting it. I enjoy shooting mine.

The XD9c is an excellent gun...I had one last year and it was very accurate and never jammed. My CPA has so much faith in them that he has 2....one he carries and one he keeps in his truck. You will like it. Robbie

For a smaller caliber, you cant beat the XD9sc. Mine has a light on it and, just like I said in another thread not two minutes ago, sits in my wifes nightstand. I dont carry this weapon, never have. Dont even own a holster for it. But I imagine it would carry quite nicely. I carry the much bigger brother: XDm40

This is a great carry weapon. It's thick but concealable (nice short grip). But it is also a fun range gun.

Get a Crossbreed Supertuck for it and you'll never look back.

Yeah, what Dukalmighty said on the language.

I love my XD9sc. Love it. It's been my EDC since the day I bought it, so I bet that you'll enjoy it as well!

great little gun...I almost traded the Glokc 23 in on one but the guy wanting to do that was in Alabama and im in PA it was well worth the trade for me but I didnt want to do that...I trust you to send me a gun type deal so I passed...if he had been in PA or driving distance also..id have done it in a heartbeat...just as reliable as the Glock tons better feel in my hand.

Both great guns. I do own a Beretta Bobcat .22 and for your mom it will work fine. Just make sure you learn the mechanics of it then teach her, unless of course she already knows. My wife took mine over years ago and won't tell me where it is. She said it's on a need to know basis.
Follow the advice above about the donkey thing or trust me you will get a warning, been my experience too.

I've got an XD9 the service size. They're great pistols and it will serve you well.
