    P7 Real Range Report!!!

I am working in Little Rock for the next couple of days and went to a local indoor range here. (my first time at an indoor shooting range...I had a blast) I put 100 rounds thru it and am very impressed with the accuracy and the reliability of this HK...I wallowed the center out of a silouhette target. The only downside is that the P7 gets HOT after about 7 or 8 mags...I rented a Sig 239 ..but the P7 was already hot and took a while to cool down. The Sig is an awesome shooter too. It is on my have to have list now. I am enjoying this P7 more and more.Just thought I would share this..I was like a kid in a candy store at this range.Wish we had one in T-town. Robbie

100 rounds is about my max for the P7. Usually a good idea to have at least one other gun with you for cool down interludes. For anyone not familiar with the HK P7, here's a long but informative video about this outstanding pistol.

Which range in LR did you go to?

The sig P239 is a great gun. It's a tack driver, thin, and looks great. It's a bit on the heavy side, but that's what my P3AT is for right?

Glad you're enjoying the P7, I looked at those in the gun shop, but I picked up a Sig P6 instead :).

Kind of what I figured. I've been there.
P-6's are up to around 360.
Its one of my favourite carry guns.

Skip the sig, get a second P7. Alternate at the range.

The P7 requires some concentration if used as a carry piece. Gotta remember to squeeze. Don't want to be trying to remember what pistol you have on your belt, as you are sweeping away your jacket.

Those two guys are carried alternately, so they each have just a hint of holster wear at the muzzle now. Don't have any safe queens.

Mine seems to cool off MUCH faster if I field strip it first. It seems to cut the cooling time in half.

I had never seen or been intersted in the p7. One day my grandfather in law said that he knew I collected old military firearms and said he had a German pistol for me if I wanted it. He wasn't even sure what model it was, but I said I'd take it to keep it in the family if nothing else.

Later he walked in with a damn near mint p7m8. Having used it now I love it. I'm torn between the p7m8 and my PPS for EDC.

The p7 is an unbelieveable handgun. If you can afford one, buy it.
