    New cz p-07 duty

Just picked this up recently. Only 100 rounds through it so far but it's pretty nice. Quite accurate and relatively light recoil with a 16 round mag. Price seemed good at $400. Anyone else shooting/carrying one of these?

There is a half dozen or so regulars here that have one. I love mine and have posted about it several times.

I turn 21 the end of May and have been seriously considering it for my first "carry" pistol. I'm a little concerned about stories of mag release/frame bulge problems and trying to find a good iwb for it, but it seems like a really good balance between concealability and being fun at the range. I'd love to hear more about it

I bought mine because although my favorite handgun is the 1911 in .45acp, I also wanted a 9mm. I was looking for something with a polymer frame (mainly to be different than my 1911s) but with ergonomics similar to the 1911. (Don't want to start a war with Glock fans, but I just don't like the safety on the Glock, i.e., the 'trigger on a trigger'). The CZ P-07 seemed to fit the bill, at least for me. The gun fits my hand really well and the grip and controls are similar to my favorites. It comes with a decocker installed, but this can be swapped out for a thumb safety that is supplied with the gun. There have been problems reported with mags failing to drop free. Mine came with two mags. One dropped free the other did not . I haven't decided what to do about this yet. Since one drops and the other doesn't I don't know where the problem lies. I've read several reports that CZ has replaced guns that had this problem. Some of the early models did develop a bulge on the frame but mine is too new to tell if this is going to be a problem. It may have been addressed by CZ in later production runs. A discussion of both potential problems can be found at Welcome to CZForum.com. All in all I am very pleased with mine so far. At $400 on sale at Cabelas, the price seemed quite reasonable.

I would prefer a 1911 too but until time/resources allow I want to pick up a 9mm. The 45 is gonna have to be a graduation present from me to me

I was debating, but decided to buy a P-01 instead. Maybe one day . . .

Let us know how she does.

Congrats & welcome to the club.

I have 3 CZ's and just convinced my brother-in-law to get one too.

Mine was fine at first and then neither mag would drop. Sent it back to CZ and two weeks later I had a new pistol. So far this ones running fine.
