    PPK/s or Sig P232??? HELP

    Hello all,
I want to get either of the above and wanted some opinions. I have a LCP, but this is for my wife. We had a problematic Bersa so we sold it, but she really likes the recoil of the cartridge so we were thinking of a PPK or P232. So, between the 2, which one?

I had a PPK about 20 years ago, I remember the trigger was tough in DA, never shot a P232. Wonder about the European mag release on the Sig.

    Thanks for your help!

I would go P232 of those two, lighter and better trigger.

I have heard the Sig has a good trigger, going to try to find one locally and try it out, thanks.

The trigger on the Sig is MUCH better. The Sig is also a higher quality product.

A Sig 232 with Hogue grips is really nice. The mag release you get used to. I have a PPK/s in .32 and it is a good shooter, but I would rely on the Sig.

Definitely the Sig. Since the PPK's have been produced domestically (S&W) they can't hold a candle to the Sig (or to the German produced PPK's).

The Sig will give you a better, fuller, more solid grip than a PPK.
    A PPK holds 6 rounds, a Sig holds 7
The alloy Sig is lighter than a PPK, the Stainless Sig is a bit heavier.
The SA trigger pull of both is pretty good.
The DA pull is pretty heavy on both.
Racking the slide is fairly heavy for both.
The PPK is known for slide bite, the Sig much less so.
    Both are plenty accurate.
I shoot my Sig better than my Walther PPK/S, so I guess I prefer it.
    The Sig sights are better.
I prefer the disassembly of the Sig, but both are pretty easy.
The Sig has no safety, I like that, whereas the Walther does.

No doubt about it, the Sig. I have a PPK and have shot a 232. While I like my PPK, I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a 232. Add to the mix that one good slide bite from a PPK could turn her off to shooting for a long time.

What exactly is a European mag release?

That greenish gun is really beautiful. And is it really purple on the edge or is this all an optical illusion of photog? How was that done?

The mag release is in the heel of the grip, not behind the trigger position...see the little black dohicky to the rear of the mag base plate on the Sig

The finish is called Titanium Rainbow, and yes it is multi-colored. Sig used it on the P232 and P239 as well as the new P238

I went and played with them at lunch, do like the feel of the Sig better.....now to try and find one on the cheap, if that is possible.

Already answered by ripley16 and while they no longer show the Rainbow 232, here's the 238 Rainbow.

I have not fired the Sig, but I do like my S&W PPK. It has been 100% reliable for me with not a single problem, ever. It is true though that the DA trigger is extremely unforgiving.

My dad has an Interarms PPK, and I have a S&W PPK. I have relatively large hands, and I always get slide bite with the Interarms. However, I have never had that problem with the S&W and its extended beavertail.

I agree the Sig would be my choice if it was for carry, but I've always like the Beretta 84/85 models.
