The custom 1911s DO feel different. They are so nice. I tend to think I would only go to a Custom if I went to a 1911. Very nice.

Respectfully disagree. Held an RIA once and was afraid if I looked at it wrong something might fall off of it. Have owned two Kimbers that never quite felt "right".
On the other hand, picked up a Springfield Loaded chambered in .40S&W that my dealer had in stock and bought it ... that one just felt right.
Another time, same dealer got a nice 5" Wilson in ... held it for all of 3 seconds, yelled out, "I'll take it.". Then I looked at the price tag and yelled out, "Cancel that last request unless you've priced this thing in pesos."
I was 21 or 22 then and had little in the way of funds after my nasty 800-round per week range habit. My next handgun will be a Wilson though.

I'd have too agree, the Brown 1911's are works of beauty; but for fit
and function, I chose the 5" Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special. Its as
tight as "Dick's Hat Band"~!
