IWB - Where on your waist?

My CTac Infidel fits most comfortably around the 8o'clock position (I'm a South Paw) however I notice many people here seem to carry right on the point of their hip (3o'clock for a righty, 9o'clock for a South Paw) which seems less comfortable to me.

I've also seen pics of people carrying on their appendix (2o'clock / 10o'clock) which would also seem to provide more comfort but would also seem more likely to print. Thoughts?

I carry my 642 at 2o'clock / 10o'clock when I wear jeans.I just put on a big t-shirt or straight cut shirts. Small gun, so, does not bother me. My XD, nope, I carry it at 3:30/4:00.

Same here for me. Also I have a deep concealment holster that I use frequently, under the left arm.

Seems like the preference thus far is 4o'clock / 8o'clock (just behind the point of the hip). That works well for me too, good combination of comfort and ease of access.

You carry right in the "normal" area for most people...depending what im doing I carry in a RM Lowrider or my current Crossbreed at from 3 o'clock-4oclock which would be from 8-9 O'clock for you. Sometimes I have to move a little if on driving or sitting a lot thats the biggest deal for me when im standing I can carry almost anywhere comfortably...I tried many methods and just finally went back to 3-4 o'clock it just universally felt the best over long periods.

I tied appendix carry and just cant pull it off Im up and down driving and sitting too much for it to be comfortable..every time I sit/stand its jabbing me or I have to move it or reposition it so it just didnt work for me. and im a skinny 155 at 5' 10" so it wasnt a big gut problem :)

The old adage "One gun doesn't fit all" also applies here "One carry position doesn't fit all". You have to take your conditions and environment into consideration. You might end up with a drawer full of holsters that "just didn't feel right" before you find "just the right one".

Compact guns IWB at 1:30, larger ones 4:00.

Appendix carry for me does not print, I don't tuck my shirts in and wear heavier material that doesn't cling.

Every "body" is different. You just have to go with what's comfortable for your shape and size. I tend to prefer 3:00 but I can't carry there in the warmer months without printing like crazy so 4:00 - 4:30 give me the best concealment and comfort.

I carry IWB @ 2:00 (righty) all the time and it never prints. I mostly wear pleated front docker style pants, which help a lot.

I'm right handed but CC at 9:00, crossdraw. Due to getting older I can reach across easier than I can reach back. Have to do what's right for you.
