Ankle holster question
So here is my question. I have a sigma 40 that is my EDC. I want to carry a BUG. The gun I have at this present time to fit this role is my pt140. Yes, it may be a bit large. I just bought a desantis ankle holster. I am curious as to what is the best position on my ankle to wear it. Is it best on the lower point of my ankle or up higher ? I carry my sigma on a SOB right by my right kidney. I am just trying to find a good way to carry my other gun. I have grown quite fond of the 40 cal platform and dont want to downgrade just for a BUG. Any thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated. No I do not want to carry a mouse gun, so please dont offer this as advice. I want to make the gun I have work. Thanks for your help!
When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid.

I used to carry an colt officers model on my ankle..had to pull it once..glad I had the colt .45.
As low as you can go is good..I buy my pant 2" longer so they kinda bunch at the bottom but don't ride up when I'm sittin..
Packing an akle rig is no time to wear pants that are too short. If you carry the gun too high the grip will start to print..It's a balancing act.
I have used a ankle rig for a long time and have never been made..And you won't believe some of the places I have packed it...

Thats really great and all, but do you have anything to add in response to my question?

I thought I did add to the question..reference my first post

then second was in response to J400Cali's question, but is shows the excellent concealability of the ankle holster.
Sorry.

Not sure if it applies with a pistol your size, but I have carried, and still do carry a snubbie on the ankle with some frequency. What I found is that there is a sweet spot, where the holster bottom is just above the ankle bone, and the holster is positioned in the area between the calf crease and the shin bone (sorry for my lack of vocabulary). Anyway, at this point, it is high enough it does not show below the pants leg, even when sitting, and it does not poke the ankle bone, but is low enough that it can be drawn quickly, and the grip does not poke out the back of the pants leg.
I've used this settup even with light dress pants in places that would have been detrimental to printing (no place illegal though).

You just have to find the sweet spot as posted above.
I carry mine just above the ankle... not for comfort but to keep enough tension so the grip doesn't clank against my high activity ultralight knee frame. YMMV

Now there's a "sweet spot" advantage I never thought of! Outstanding!
ALWAYS carry! - NEVER tell!
